Netbooks

Recently I purchased my wife a netbook ( she does not know how to operate a PC). I selected the Acer Aspire One. This small laptop has the Atom N450 dual processor at 1.6 Ghz, 1 GB memory, 160 GB hard drive, RJ45 and WIFI, and a web cam.

It came with Windows 7 Starter. Windows 7 in any configurations is a blotted operating system which is a resource hog. I promptly replaced it with Fedora 12. I found that the graphics were acceptable, and worked quite well.

This small laptop will work quite well for my wife of 21 years, and it is her first PC. I will be teaching her the finer arts of computing. :)
